Summer Reading Celebration Carnival
The new Kiwanis Club
of Placentia has discussed helping at the August 18 Placentia
Library Summer Reading Celebration Carnival. Here are the details of
the Kiwanis involvement.
We will need Kiwanians and other adults to assist us with the
Managing the food
booths (snow cone machine, cotton candy machine and BBQ). With
the exception of the BBQ, we would like to have one adult with the
teens at the food booth at all times to make sure everything is
running smoothly. The BBQ will only have adults working at it.
Setting up and
directing parking at the IHOP parking lot - there will probably be
teens to assist with adults but we want a couple with them to make
sure everything is going ok.

There are a lot of
different booths for games and food so generally we need more adults
(besides library staff) to make sure teens stay on task while

As for the amount of volunteers we typically have about 75 adults
and teen volunteers assist us at the event during the day. We will
have 3 different shifts, the times are tentatively set at 8-11:45am,
