Heather McRea, editor of the Orange County Register, is interested in stories and pictures on events in the areas where its local weekly editions are circulated.

Photos and information should be submitted to hmcrea@ocregister.com with the subject line “Community News”. Photos need to be sent as .jpg files, 170 dpi, and 10 to 12 inches wide. If your computer asks if you want to compress or shrink the photos for faster e-mail, reply NO.

The people in any photos should be identified from left to right. Full names are a must and ages, cities, or schools are a plus.

Photos of minors must have signed releases from parent or guardian, although the forms need not be submitted to the paper. A mention that a signed release exists will ease the editor’s mind and make the photo more likely to be used. This release form is available on the District web page.
